Rules of the trail


Ride on open trails only

Respect trail and road closures (ask if not sure), be wary of trespassing on private land.

Leave no trace

Be sensitive to the terrain beneath you. Practice low-impact cycling. Stay on existing trails, don't create new ones. Don't cut switchbacks.

Control your bike!

Inattention for even a second can cause problems. Obey all cycle speed regulations and recommendations.

Heed others on the trail

Make known your approach well in advance. A friendly greeting or bell is considerate and works well don't startle others.

Never startle animals

All animals are startled by an unannounced approach, sudden movement or a loud noise. This can be dangerous!
Distressing cattle and disturbing wildlife is a serious offense.

Plan ahed

Know your equipment, your ability; and the area in wich you are riding. Be self-sufficient at all times. Always wear
a helmet and appropriate safety gear.
