A sunken warship, the spectacular underwater Blue Cave and the plunging cliffs of Sveti Andrija are just three of the exciting sites worthy of exploration in the crystal clear waters near the Valamar Dubrovnik President Hotel. DIVING LOCATIONS

Location 1.: Reefs - Taranto shipwreck
  • Taranto military ship sank in 1943 after it hit a ship mine. The shipwreck now lies at the end of the wall in front of the reef. The bow is at the edge of the wall and the body is broken in half, lying buried in the bottom.
  • interesting fact: well-preserved shipwreck of a merchant ship
  • depth: 23 - 53 m
  • difficulty level: for advanced divers only

Location 2.: Koločep, Plava spilja - bottomless
  • The entrance to the underwater cave is at the depth of 12 m. The cave is abundant with many fabulous colours and the bottom is covered with sand. When diving is completed and you come up to surface, you will find yourself in a little lake which cannot be seen from the seaside. From there on there is an underwater pass which leads to a cape at a depth of 3 m.

Location 3.: St. Andrew Island (Sv. Andrija)
  • The island of St. Andrew is located about two sea miles south-west from the island of Lopud. The diving location is situated at the south-west outer side of the island. It is recognizable by a vertical cliff which dives into the sea. A lighthouse is located at the edge of the outer cliff. This diving location has been known for the beautiful dark red coral since the ancient times.

DIVING COURSES:
  • Beginners diving course – meant for all who want to learn the basics of diving with diving equipment (ARA). The course is ran according to the standards of the international diving school NAUI (National Association of Underwater Instructors) and it consists of a theoretical and practical part.
  • Diver rescuer – the purpose of this course is to train the diver in the necessary knowledge and skills for a proper reaction in case of emergency and if the diver encounters some problems during diving.
  • Advanced diving course – meant for divers who have finished the beginners diving course according to the NAUI standards or any other school of diving acknowledged by the NAUI (e.g. PADI, SSI, CMAS, etc.). The goal of the course is to expand the diving knowledge and skills acquired during the beginners diving course.
  • Master diver – the course is meant for divers who want to advance and expand their knowledge. The emphasis of the course is on the participation of the divers in all activities and the practical application of the things learned.
  • Underwater photography course – meant for all who want to learn the basics of underwater photography.
