Kaštradina

Kaštradina, a speciality of Krk, is flavoursome smoked mutton that has been dried in the bora wind. In restaurants throughout Istria, kaštradina is commonly served as a side dish with a selection of other Croatian favourites. Its smoky flavours are also used to enhance meat and vegetable stews.

Šurlice

Whilst wonderful tasting pastas are a common feature of restaurants in Croatia, the inhabitants of Krk are particularly proud of their locally-produces 'šurlice'.
