In the summer, Krk turns into a living stage and you can enjoy the many different events that range between cultural, fun, and gastronomic activities to traditional events that ensure your visit is full of good quality entertainment.
The Krk Summer Performances are musical-theatrical events that have a long tradition. This is one of the oldest events of this type on the Adriatic cast. Since 1957 each summer, the people of Krk and their visitors are able to enjoy a wide variety of concert performances, from classical to contemporary music, dramas, ballets and other cultural events.
Asides from the Krk Summer performances, good music in Krk can be heard at other events, and we especially recommend the top jazz performances set in an inspirational atmosphere at the Volsonis Jazz Garden Festival.
The Krk Fair brings a sense of the rich past and traditions to the present day. It is a three day historical spectacle that offers a variety of events on a number of stages and two hundred open-air stands. This event started in long ago 1524 as a fair where traders from all over Europe sold different goods. Through time the Krk Fair turned into a tourist attraction and party that is visited by many tourists. The maritime battle is particularly attractive, a scripted display of the battles between the ancient boats from Krk’s distant past.
Asides from the large number of events during the season itself, there are some excellent festivals in the town of Krk and outside it. We recommend the Vinofest, an eno/gastro/traditional event that occurs in the last weekend of May and the Krk carnival that lasts every year from the holiday of the Three Kings until the beginning of Lent.
