A bukaleta is an earthenware jug, most often painted with motifs of grapes and grape leaves and inscribed with sayings about wine. When company gathers, Istrians most happily drink wine from a bukaleta. In addition, they also use it to drink Istrian soup, mildly warmed red wine, usually teran or borgonja, to which a slice of freshly baked bread, a few drops of olive oil, a little sugar, and ground pepper is added. |

Today, many people build kažuni in their gardens at home as a symbol of Istrian tradition. Make a loved one happy with a miniature kažun that you can find in the souvenir shop in the center of Poreč. |
