DGNB certificate, recognition of sustainable construction

Valamar Amicor Green Resort aspires to the highest level of excellence in sustainable, environmentally friendly construction – the international DGNB certificate. DGNB is the abbreviation for Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen (Institute for Sustainable Construction), and the certificate they issue is the global holistic green building certification system.

Our intention is to be the first resort on the Croatian Adriatic to reach the highest DGNB standard and raise the bar of excellence for the entire region.

  • Natural, recycled and reused materials have been applied in the interior design.
  • 100% of the energy used by the resort comes from renewable sources.
  • All vehicles are electric, lighting is energy efficient, and not a single kilowatt of electricity harms the environment.
  • The biosphere around the resort has been preserved to the greatest extent.
  • New species are continuously being planted, but only those that belong to the local ecosystem.
  • The amount of paper used in the resort processes has been reduced and we completely stopped using disposable plastic.
  • 77% of the ingredients we use are local and organic, or produced in our garden.
