We are reopening our hotels and campsites

Due to the effective protection measures in Croatia, the situation in our destinations is completely under control and we look forward to welcoming you again in our hotels and campsites.

If you decide to travel, just a few hours’ drive from Central Europe you can enjoy the Adriatic Sea and our wide selection of accommodation ranging from hotels, villas, apartments and resorts to camping resorts.

Even though there has been no occurrence of the infection in Valamar hotels or among Valamar employees, we preventively closed our hotels, resorts and camping resorts.

Rules at the border when entering Croatia

Croatia has fully opened its borders for Citizens of Austria, Slovenia, Germany, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and they do not have to prove the reason for their arrival (e.g. business, economic, tourist, etc.).

On June 3, Austria reopened its borders with all neighbouring countries apart from Italy. There are no restriction to come to Croatia. The journey through Austria and Slovenia to Croatia runs smoothly.
As of June 16th, Austria will revoke all restrictions for travelling to Croatia as well as for a number of other countries. As of June 16th, when returning from Croatia to Austria, citizens will no longer have to follow certain obligations or epidemiological measures, all measures related to travelling to Croatia from Austria will be revoked as of the 16th of June 2020.

For easier and faster border crossing, we recommend submitting your data in advance via the website entercroatia.mup.hr. In this way you can avoid additional delays at the border crossing as the border police will have your data in the system.

Passengers who have registered on entercroatia.mup.hr website will receive on their email address a confirmation of receipt and all the necessary information related to the instructions and recommendations of the Croatian Institute of Public Health.

Passengers who do not submit their data in advance via this application will be able to do so at the border crossing when entering the Republic of Croatia.

Rules for entering the Republic of Croatia for other EU countries

For foreign citizens from other EU countries, there is no mandatory self-isolation when entering the Republic of Croatia. When entering the Republic of Croatia, guests will need to have a document confirming the reservation of accommodation in Croatia, which contains the place/address of the accommodation facility where the guest will stay, contact phone number and length of stay, i.e. the date when the guest plans to leave the Republic of Croatia.

At the border crossing, guests will also receive a leaflet with general and special recommendations and instructions from the Croatian Institute of Public Health.

AUSTRIA

LATEST UPDATE
On June 3, Austria reopened its borders with all neighbouring countries apart from Italy. There are no restriction to come to Croatia.
Croatia has fully opened its borders for Austrian citizens. Travel between Austria, Slovenia and Croatia runs smoothly.
As of June 16th, Austria will revoke all restrictions for travelling to Croatia as well as for a number of other countries. As of June 16th, when returning from Croatia to Austria, citizens will no longer have to follow certain obligations or epidemiological measures, all measures related to travelling to Croatia from Austria will be revoked as of the 16th of June 2020.

Croatia has fully opened its borders for citizens of Germany. On June 3, Austria reopened its borders with all neighbouring countries apart from Italy. Travel between Germany and Croatia through Austria and Slovenia runs smoothly.

For citizens of the Federal Republic of Germany, there is no restriction of movement in the Republic of Croatia. When entering the Republic of Croatia as tourists, guests should provide information – their destination, mobile phone number, and email address – so they can be contacted for epidemiological reasons if required.

Since Croatia is an EU member state with a very good epidemiological situation, most regions in Germany do not require mandatory self-isolation for their citizens returning from Croatia. The states of Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia, Baden Württemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate and Lower Saxony have already abolished mandatory self-isolation or quarantine for those who return from EU countries and countries associated with the Schengen Agreement. SLOVENIA

There are no restrictions on movement between the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Croatia for citizens of the Republic of Slovenia.

Your Valamar Plus Club status

We are fully aware of the importance for all members of our Valamar Plus Club of keeping their benefits. Therefore, we have made some important amendments in order to provide more flexibility:

  • We will pause the expiration of all loyalty points that are due to expire by 30 September 2020. This will give you an additional period during which you can redeem your points and take advantage of the benefits we offer.

  • We will not delete points for cancelled reservations. For all reservations cancelled in the period from 10 March until 31 July 2020, we will not delete the collected points. This gives you the opportunity to reuse these points when making your next reservation.

  • We award 6,000 loyalty points for all existing and new reservations for 2020.

6. What coronavirus protection measures have you taken in your hotels and campsites?

We always take special care of hygiene and cleanliness in our hotels and campsites. At the first sign of the epidemic in neighbouring countries, we have introduced a series of disease prevention procedures, making sure to maintain a high level of comfort and quality of service. Since then, we have developed a system to ensure the safety of our guests and employees in accordance with the latest hygiene and cleanliness guidelines.

The safety system for guests and employees includes, among other things:

  • continuous education of our employees in order to inform them about potential dangers and to carry out appropriate preventive procedures
  • sanitation standard operating procedures
  • availability of surface and hand disinfectants, both to staff and guests
  • additional safety measures in the preparation and serving of food, as well as cleaning and disinfection of accommodation units

As soon as we reopen our hotels and campsites, we will continue to apply these measures, adapting them to the instructions of the competent authorities, always taking into account the safety of our guests and employees.

7. How can I use the points that I have collected through my Valamar Plus Club membership?

9. Will you supply enough disinfectants in rooms and common areas?

We will provide guests and employees with all the necessary disinfectants in line with the prescribed legal measures to prevent the spread of the virus. We have also implemented the 100% Privacy/No entry option as part of our V-Health& Safety programme, which means that Valamar employees will enter an accommodation unit only on the guest’s request and with the necessary protective equipment.

10. How will you direct guests to adhere to social distancing guidelines?

We use communication tools and messages in our facilities to provide information and encourage responsible behaviour and social distancing. Furthermore, this year we have reduced the maximum capacity of all our accommodation facilities by 20% and have also lowered the capacities of our restaurants and bars in order to ensure a safe distance between tables/chairs in line with the recommendations of the Croatian Institute of Public Health. 11. Do you have an emergency medical service in case of coronavirus symptoms?

Valamar has improved its existing high hygiene and safety standards for guests in accordance with the recommendations of international and European health organisations and has implemented its V-Health & Safety programme, which includes a V Health&Safety manager who will provide healthcare and all necessary coordination if required and who is available to guests 24/7 in all Valamar facilities. 12. What can we expect on your beaches?

We have reduced the capacity of sun loungers on all Valamar beaches to offer more space for our guests. We have also introduced numerous other safety standards as part of our improved V-Health& Safety programme. 13. What options do we have for checking in and checking out?

We have simplified our check-in procedure so you can check in online or use our safe protocols at the reception. You can also check in via our MyValamar mobile app, our website www.valamar.com, or at our interactive kiosk (available in some accommodation facilities) upon arrival. If would prefer to check in and out without using technology, we offer the regular procedure with precautions such as a minimum distance between guests.

14. Will we be able to move freely in town while keeping social distance?

Both locals and guests can move freely in town. However, the recommendation on the importance of social distancing for the common good is still in force.

15. Will wearing face masks be mandatory in certain parts of the campsite?

16. How will children’s entertainment programmes and children’s pools be organised?

Valamar follows the recommendations of international, European and national health organisations concerning kindergartens and applies them to all Maro amenities for children while implementing the highest hygiene standards. 17. Will additional campsite amenities (sports playgrounds, cinema and similar) be available?

18. How will breakfast be served?

This year, we have reduced the maximum capacity of our accommodation facilities by 20% and have also lowered the capacities of our restaurants and bars in order to ensure a safe distance between tables/chairs in line with the recommendations of the Croatian Institute of Public Health. On the units where food is served, we have installed glass partitions to protect against sneezing, and we have also introduced the serving of food on plates and food portioning and packaging with the maximum application of all health and safety certificates and disinfectants in the restaurant. We have prepared instructions and quality information for guests in all key areas of the facility.

19. Can we get breakfast in our room?

Guests can order room service breakfast: information about this service is available at the reception of the facility. (Room service is not available in Sunny Hotels & Resorts.)

20. How will the food be served on the buffet table?

On the units where food is served, we have installed glass partitions to protect against sneezing, and we have also introduced the serving of food on plates and food portioning and packaging with the maximum application of all health and safety certificates and disinfectants in the restaurant. We have prepared instructions and quality information for guests in all key areas of the facility. In addition, this year we have reduced the maximum capacity of our accommodation facilities by 20% and have also lowered the capacities of our restaurants and bars in order to ensure a safe distance between tables/chairs in line with the recommendations of the Croatian Institute of Public Health. In some facilities, hotel restaurants will be open in two time slots, depending on the number of guests and organisational needs.

21. Will you be serving half-board meals in different time slots?

We have reduced the maximum capacity of our accommodation facilities by 20% and have also lowered the capacities of our restaurants and bars in order to ensure a safe distance between tables/chairs in line with the recommendations of the Croatian Institute of Public Health. The restaurant will operate in two shifts when necessary. Some facilities will serve dinner in two different time slots, which is explained on our #beachholidays site. Our restaurants have always had the highest hygiene standards and a certified food management system.
