Who is entitled to the V-care guarantee?

The V-care guarantee healthcare package is valid for all reservations (including existing ones) made directly through valamar.com or the Valamar Reservation Centre. Guests who have booked their accommodation through online travel agencies or other partners should check with them on healthcare services and insurance options.

The V-care guarantee applies to all persons included in the reservation and is valid from the moment of checking into one of our hotels or camping resorts.

Important! To be eligible for free healthcare services in public health facilities while staying at our destinations, you must have a valid European Health Insurance Card.1

What is included in the V-care guarantee

  • The V-Health&Safety Manager is available to our guests 24 hours a day during their entire stay and is responsible for ensuring medical assistance if necessary.

  • Free consultation with a doctor via telephone (telephone or video call) 24 hours a day. Doctors speak English and Croatian at the minimum(German language subject to available doctors).

  • Healthcare service 24 hours a day in the Valamar hotel or camping resort where the guest is staying, or in healthcare facilities. Health care is available free of charge in public healthcare facilities via the European Health Insurance Card. Private healthcare facilities will charge for healthcare services.

  • RAT (rapid antigen) testing at your hotel or camping resort. The price of the test is €10 to €20, to be paid by the guest (the cost of testing depends on the destination). To book an appointment, contact the reception or your V-Health&Safety Manager in your accommodation property by 12:00 (noon) on the working day before the desired test date (excluding Sundays, when tests are not performed). For a test on Monday, you need to make an appointment on Saturday by 12:00 (noon). You can also book an appointment before your arrival via the Valamar Reservation Centre. Test results will be delivered to your email address within two hours. You may experience delays in the delivery of results, in the event of an increase in demand.

  • PCR testing at your hotel or camping resort. The price of the test is €50 to €120, to be paid by the guest (the cost of testing depends on the destination). To book an appointment, contact the reception or your V-Health&Safety Manager in your accommodation property by 12:00 (noon) on the working day before the desired test date (excluding Sundays, when tests are not performed). For a test on Monday, you need to make an appointment on Saturday by 12:00 (noon). You can also book an appointment before your arrival via the Valamar Reservation Centre. Test results will be delivered to your email address within 24 hours.

  • We will cover the costs in case there is the need to extend the stay of persons infected with COVID-19 and everyone included in their reservation for up to 14 days.

  • Reimbursement of travel expenses for the return journey of persons infected with COVID-19 if the return dates are different from those regularly scheduled.2

  • Guarantee that our employees are vaccinated or regularly tested. Most of our employees have a COVID-19 vaccination or recovery certificate, and those who have not yet received the COVID-19 vaccine are regularly tested.3


1 European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)

The European Health Insurance Card is a free card valid in the 27 member states of the European Union as well as in Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein. Guests from these countries carrying a valid European Health Insurance Card are entitled to free healthcare services (including treatment for COVID-19) in public healthcare facilities in the country they are staying in at the time.

Who can get the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)?
Anyone who regularly pays for health insurance in their home country either within the European Union or in Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, or Switzerland can get the European Health Insurance Card. Every family member travelling must have their own card. Persons from outside the EU who are legally resident in the EU and covered by the state social security system can also be issued with the card. The expiry date on the card differs from country to country. If you have applied for the card just before your trip but the card cannot be issued due to the short deadline, you are entitled to a certificate that affords you the same rights as the card during your trip.

Guests from the United Kingdom carrying the Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) are entitled to the same medical treatment and healthcare as all other guests from the European Union with the European Health Insurance Card.
