Kažun
You'll see kažuni in the fields of Istria, especially in the south. These small, dry-stone shelters once served as a place for storing tools and for watching over the fields and vines just before the harvest when crops often became the target of thieves. Today, many people build kažuni in their gardens at home as a symbol of Istrian tradition. You can buy a miniature kažun in souvenir shops in the centre of Poreč.
