The island of Krk sits on the intersection of culture, history, tourism, fun and entertainment and its centre, the town of Krk, is at centre of things on the island especially in the summer months.
A wide range of delicacies await you in the inns and restaurants on the island of Krk: from fish specialities and other sea food dishes that are dripping in local olive oil and Žlatina from Vrbnik to traditional pasta in a variety of sauces, Krk lamb, local sheep cheese and prosciutto. One thing is for sure, your taste buds won’t be bored.
A capella songs, performances, classical concerts and popular music are held every day in the town of Krk in the summer months, and the street performers and lively characters who you will meet in the old town, on Vela market square and on the coastal paths will freshen up the warm days and evenings.
The beaches of Krk are well known for being extremely well looked after and very well-equipped and the sea in this part of Kvarner is crystal clear. All our accommodation is right on the sea so you can have a totally relaxing summer holiday.
All those who want adrenalin can try windsurfing and other water sports not far from the town of Krk, in the bay of Punat, where excitement levels are raised to another notch.
In the last few years, some of the leading world tourism guides have called Krk the closest Adriatic island because of its airport and the fact that it only takes an hour or two for airlines from all over Europe to get here.
It is possible to get additional tourist information and maps from the Tourist Association of Krk, at Vela market, and in other sites.
Outside the city of Krk, on other parts of the island, there are places that are great for anyone who wants some nightlife. The biggest club on the island, the Crossroad disco in Malinska should definitely be mentioned here. There are also lots of summer cocktail bars that have relaxing sea side terraces and cafés and lounge bars where you can cool down with your favourite drink.
One thing we should not forget to mention, which is something quite unique and greatly entertained our visitors for the first time last year. This is the summer ice rink that is on the shore itself. So when you pack your things, as well as your sun cream, sun glasses and sun loungers, don’t forget to bring your ice skates with you .

Ski-lift Krk

Experience a real adventure of water skiing on a modern ski-lift in the Punat Bay. Learn basic wakeboarding and water skiing techniques during a half-day visit to the sports centre Cable Krk, including equipment rental and supervision by our instructors. This facility, 400m2 in size, is situated above the sea with a beautiful beach located next to it and includes a bar, a restaurant with covered terrace and sunbathing area. Have fun while sipping a special house cocktail and enjoy the view of the islet of Košljun and the performance of numerous water skiers.

	Dunat Beach The public beach Dunat situated in the southern part of the town of Krk, known for its somewhat higher seawater temperature, is a favourite swimming spot for families with children. Let yourself go to the summer magic and enjoy swimming, sunbathing or have fun with additional programmes such as beach volleyball.
	Politin Beach The Politin beach is situated in the naturist camp Politin, two kilometres away from the centre of the town of Krk. Swim and sunbathe at the pebbly or paved naturist beach and enjoy the view of the old town of Krk.
	Ježevac Beach The Ježevac beach is situated in the homonymous camp, not far from the centre of the town of Krk. Choose the pebbly, sandy or paved beach, swim in the crystal clear sea or try your hand at beach volleyball while the youngest members of your family are having fun in the children’s sand-pit.
	Porporela Beach The Porporela beach is situated in the very centre of the town of Krk, on the way out of the Ježevac camp. This sandy and stone-paved beach offers various sports programmes and is an ideal spot for the fun of the whole family.
	Koralj Beach The Koralj beach with its sandy seabed is situated in a romantic cove dominated by the Valamar Koralj Hotel. Swim in the crystal clear sea and relax in the shade of the fragrant pinewood or take a walk along the seaside path that will take you to the old town of Krk.
	Redagara Beach This beach is an ideal spot for all those spending vacation with their pets, eager to swim in a quite, secluded cove. The Redagara pebbly beach situated between the Dražica public beach and the Politin naturist camp invites you with its crystal clear sea.

	Baška Tablet Miniature The Baška Tablet (Baščanska ploča) is the most important early Croatian monument of the Croatian language and literature written in the Croatian Glagolitic script dating from about 1100. It originates from the early Romanesque church of St Lucy in Jurandvor near Baška on the island of Krk. Take along a miniature of the Baška Tablet that will remind you of your vacation on the “Golden Island”.
	Jewellery with the Morčić Motif The image of Morčić represents a traditional jewellery motif typical of the Kvarner region which symbolises affiliation to the littoral region. Although various jewellery is made with the Morčić image (pendants, brooches, needles, rings), earrings are still the most popular decorative jewellery with this motif. 	Sopile When talking about the Istrian folklore we should mention a wind instrument called sopile, whose melodies can be heard at almost all island festivities most commonly associated to church holidays and patrons of towns. 	Vrbnik Žlahtina Vrbnik žlahtina is an autochthonous sort of white wine cultivated in limited quantities on the island of Krk, near Vrbnik. Its name derives from the Slavic adjective meaning noble. Try this wine of very distinctive aroma and make your loved ones happy with a bottle of an autochthonous wine of this region.
	Komovica Brandy The islanders traditionally welcome their guests with dried figs and various kinds of home-made brandy. Strong alcoholic drink komovica brandy (ropovica) is a typical drink of the island of Krk. It is made of grape by distillation of grape marc enriched with various aromatic herbs from the region of Kvarner.

	Kaštradina Kaštradina is a traditional smoked meat product made of pressed mutton leg dried in the bora wind.Try kaštradina as a side dish with various specialities or added to delicious meat stews.
	Šurlice Šurlice are the traditional pasta of the north-east Adriatic and of the island of Krk as well. Šurlice are thin, elongated pasta, hand-made by the use of knitting needle. Try some of the specialities with šurlice such as šurlice with scampi and seafood or šurlice of Baška with lamb goulash.
	Žvacet Žvacet is lamb leg meat stew most commonly served with traditional pasta from Krk called šurlice. Reward your senses with Krk lamb of special aromatic aroma with delicious home-made pasta.
	Krk Lamb The exceptional quality of Krk lamb is attributed to various species of aromatic Mediterranean herbs growing on pastures of the island of Krk giving special aroma to the meat. It is most commonly prepared spit-roasted or under peka and we recommend you to try both specialties.
	Smokvenjak Try smokvenjak, the combination of Mediterranean aromas and tastes. Smokvenjak is a delicacy forgotten long time ago enjoyed by our ancestors mostly during festivities and church holidays. This delicacy made of dried figs, grape brandy and walnuts will be served to you with an aperitif in most taverns and restaurants.
	Presnac Presnac is a fried pastry traditionally prepared in the Primorje region and on the islands of Kvarner. Enjoy this delicious tit bit prepared of puff pastry filled with sheep-milk cottage cheese and raisins.
