Piano PoolA Festival 2026

In the enchanting setting of the Euphrasian Basilica, a UNESCO World Heritage site, an exceptional piano recital by Aleksandar Madžar will take place on 15 May 2026.

This concert forms part of the third edition of the Piano PoolA Festival, which brings some of the world’s greatest piano artists to Istria.

Born in Belgrade, Aleksandar Madžar is an internationally acclaimed pianist with a distinguished career that includes performances with leading orchestras and conductors such as André Previn, Paavo Järvi, and Andris Nelsons. He frequently appears at prestigious venues including Wigmore Hall, Théâtre de la Ville in Paris, and Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Madžar is also a professor at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg.

For his Poreč recital, Madžar has prepared a refined programme featuring works by Domenico Scarlatti, Ludwig van Beethoven, Robert Schumann, and Claude Debussy, offering the audience an evening of musical brilliance and the unique spiritual atmosphere of the Euphrasian Basilica.

The concert is open to residents and visitors of Poreč and marks a highlight of the city’s spring cultural calendar.
