Make the most of summer
From the first morning swim to evenings spent by the coast, summer in Croatia is all about slowing down, soaking up the sun and making memories at your own pace. With its crystal-clear sea, sun-kissed shores, charming coastal towns and islands, Croatia offers the perfect setting for a summer escape – whether you’re looking to relax, explore or simply enjoy the beauty of the Adriatic. Curious about your summer stay? Here’s what you need to know before you go.
Summer in Croatia is typically warm, sunny and dry. During July and August, daytime temperatures along the Adriatic coast are usually around 28–32°C, while temperatures can occasionally rise above 35°C during hotter periods.
Evenings are generally more comfortable, making them perfect for dining outdoors, taking a walk by the sea or exploring the local area.
Light, breathable clothing is the best choice for Croatian summers. Pack swimwear, T-shirts, shorts, dresses and comfortable sandals, along with a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen for sunny days.
If you’re planning to explore, comfortable walking shoes are a good idea. For evenings, a light layer can come in handy, especially if you’re staying by the coast.
Croatia offers plenty of options for a summer getaway. Enjoy the Mediterranean charm and beautiful coastline of Istria, discover the relaxed island atmosphere of Rab and Krk, experience the vibrant coastal setting of Makarska or explore the historic beauty of Dubrovnik.
With Valamar destinations across the Adriatic, you can choose the setting that best suits your idea of the perfect summer holiday.
The Adriatic Sea is wonderfully warm during the summer months, with sea temperatures generally reaching around 23–26°C in July and August. The water can be slightly cooler earlier in the season and warmer towards the end of summer, making swimming, snorkelling and other water activities enjoyable throughout the season.
