How to get to the Island of Krk

By car

Krk is one of the few Croatian islands directly accessible by car, thanks to the Krk Bridge.

  • Via Slovenia: take the A1 motorway towards Koper, then cross into Croatia via the Dragonja or Jelšane border crossings. Continue on the A7 motorway towards Rijeka, then follow the signs for Krk.
  • Via Italy: follow the A4 motorway to Trieste, cross into Slovenia via Sežana or Koper, and continue through Croatia on the A7 motorway towards Rijeka, then Krk Bridge.
  • Via Zagreb: take the A1 motorway towards Rijeka, then follow the A6/A7 motorway to Krk Bridge.
