Rules of the trail
Respect trail and road closures (ask if not sure), be wary of trespassing on private land.
Be sensitive to the terrain beneath you. Practice low-impact cycling. Stay on existing trails, don't create new ones. Don't cut switchbacks.
Inattention for even a second can cause problems. Obey all cycle speed regulations and recommendations.
Make known your approach well in advance. A friendly greeting or bell is considerate and works well don't startle others.

Welcome to the trail where once passed the glorious Via Flavia, a Roman military road used by the Romans when they travelled from Trieste to Poreč and Pula. Begin cycling in Kaštelir, a picturesque town inhabited since prehistory, which later became a Roman fortification and a medieval citadel before taking in the beautiful rival towns of Labinci. Cycle south to the remains of the Benedictine Abbey of St. Michael and the legend of 'the saint under ground'. From here the trail continues to the fascinating Baredine Cave and finally back to your starting point in Kaštelir.
Cycle through along the Euphrasiana Trail, starting in the old quarter Poreč with its stunning Roman Forum and famous Euphrasian Basilica. The route then meanders past fairytale landscapes to the 9th century fortified town of St. Lovreč and through a succession of picturesque Istrian villages.
The St. Mauro Trail is a stunning two-hour circular route suitable for the whole family, following the stunning coastline of Poreč. Along the way you'll encounter the historical highlights of old Poreč, pedal alongside beautiful bays, past lush vineyards and olive groves and the famous astronomical observatory at Višnjan.
