CRO Race

For many years, Valamar has been supporting a project of exceptional importance for the Republic of Croatia – the international cycling race CRO Race. This attractive sporting event brings numerous elite cycling teams to Croatia, who compete for victory across six demanding stages. Alongside footage of intense competition between top cyclists, the CRO Race also broadcasts images of the beautiful landscapes of Croatia to audiences in 190 countries around the world.

This year’s eleventh edition of the cycling spectacle will take place from 22 to 27 September. It will be the first edition of the CRO Race to be held in the UCI ProSeries category, into which the race was officially included after last year’s tenth edition. Entry into the ProSeries category places the CRO Race alongside the world’s most renowned races such as the Giro d’Italia, Tour de France and La Vuelta Ciclista a España, as well as lesser-known but highly competitive races such as the Tour of Norway, Lidl Deutschland Tour, Lloyds Tour of Britain Men and Škoda Tour de Luxembourg. This new category confirms the relevance and excellence of the event, which have also been recognised by the Government of the Republic of Croatia, the Ministry of Tourism and Sport, the Croatian National Tourist Board, HEP, and numerous partners and sponsors.

Numerous destination partners are proudly looking forward to this year’s edition of the CRO Race, as the cycling caravan passes through their cities and towns. The youngest participants are also excited, as each finish city hosts a virtual cycling race for children called the Kids CRO Race. Almost 500 children take part in the Kids CRO Race every year, and the best performers step onto the podium in Zagreb just before the winner of the main race.
