WINTER SPORTS AND ACTIVITIES OFF THE SKI SLOPES

If you'd like to experience some winter activities off the beaten ski slopes, Obertauern offers a wide range of possibilities. Try cross-country skiing, sledging, winter hiking, snowbiking or snowkiting. Discover the joys of the biathlon, a popular combination of cross-country skiing and rifle shooting at the Gnadenlam plateau, located halfway between Obertauern and Untertauern. You can also try out some easier activities in the open air, such as a romantic sleigh ride or hiking along well-tended trails to spectacular Alpine views. Be sure to visit the Untertauern wild park that covers 11 hectares and gives you the possibility of encountering deer, mouflons and ponies.
