21–26 August 2026
From 21 to 26 August, Rab once again becomes a hub of film art and culture as it hosts the prestigious Rab Film Festival (RAFF). This festival of investigative documentary and feature films brings audiences powerful, often provocative stories that raise questions about current social issues – from crime and justice to personal freedoms and social change. The carefully curated programme encourages viewers to reflect on the world we live in and the challenges of contemporary society.
The rich festival programme takes place at three attractive locations in Rab’s historic old town: the Winter Cinema, which hosts daytime screenings, the Summer Cinema reserved for evening film experiences, and the Murnau Cinema on Pjaceta, located in the very heart of the town. Watching films under the open sky, surrounded by historic scenery and the charm of Rab’s streets, creates a unique cinematic experience that attracts many film and culture lovers year after year.
Alongside the film programme, the festival also offers a variety of accompanying events. RAFF Talk features discussions and panel talks where journalists, artists and public figures explore topics related to media, society and culture. RAFF Generation is aimed at students, offering screenings, lectures and meetings with film professionals, providing a platform for learning and exchange. The youngest visitors can enjoy RAFF Junior – an educational programme for primary school children that includes film screenings and a small film school, encouraging an early interest in cinema.
The festival atmosphere is further enriched by a music programme featuring concerts by well-known performers. After the screenings, visitors can enjoy relaxed socialising, sharing impressions and unforgettable evenings filled with music and great energy.
Each year, the Rab Film Festival combines an outstanding film programme, the unique setting of the old town and a vibrant festival atmosphere, offering visitors the opportunity to spend a few August days immersed in the world of film, art and culture – in a setting that only Rab can provide.
