1–7 June 2026
The WTA Makarska Open hosted by Valamar takes place from 1 to 7 June, bringing top-tier tennis, thrilling matches, and a fantastic lineup of events. Recognised as one of Croatia’s premier sporting events, this women’s tournament is now in its 20th edition and will be held in Makarska for the fifth consecutive year, at Valamar’s stunning seaside tennis centre.
As a WTA 125 tournament, the event attracts some of the world’s top-ranked players, ensuring highly competitive and exciting matches. In 2025, Czech player Sara Bejlek triumphed in the final against Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva in a clash between two 19-year-olds. A year earlier, the title was contested by American Katie Volynets and Egyptian Mayar Sherif. The tournament has become a favourite among players, many of whom return year after year to compete in this spectacular Adriatic setting. Beyond world-class tennis, the event offers breathtaking sea views and an unforgettable atmosphere fuelled by players, fans, and organisers alike.
But the WTA Makarska Open is more than just a tennis tournament. The venue hosts a variety of side events, including live music performances and entertainment, making it a festival of sport and culture. To inspire the next generation, the Kids’ Day event gives children the chance to step onto the court with participating players, testing their skills on a special pop-up tennis court in the heart of the city.
The tournament also serves as a platform for education and the promotion of sporting values. Throughout the event, workshops and discussions will provide deeper insights into the world of tennis, offering a unique experience for both fans and aspiring players.
With its top-level competition, exceptional organisation, and unbeatable seaside setting, the WTA Makarska Open has cemented its place as one of the most prestigious sporting events in the region—seamlessly blending elite sport, entertainment, and education.
