The WTA Makarska Open hosted by Valamar takes place from 2 to 8 June, bringing top-tier tennis, thrilling matches, and a fantastic lineup of events. Recognised as one of Croatia’s premier sporting events, this women’s tournament is now in its 19th edition and will be held in Makarska for the fourth consecutive year, at Valamar’s stunning seaside tennis centre.

As a WTA 125 tournament, the event attracts some of the world’s top-ranked players, ensuring highly competitive and exciting matches. In 2024, fans witnessed an electrifying final between K. Volynets (USA) and M. Sherif (Egypt), while in 2023, J. Paolini (Italy)—now ranked fourth in the world—battled against M. Sherif (Egypt) for the title. The tournament has become a favourite among players, many of whom return year after year to compete in this spectacular Adriatic setting. Beyond world-class tennis, the event offers breathtaking sea views and an unforgettable atmosphere fuelled by players, fans, and organisers alike.
