By car

Driving to Obertauern offers the flexibility and convenience to explore the captivating scenery at your own pace. The village is well-connected by roads, making it a straightforward journey from various parts of Austria and neighbouring countries.

From the north: take the motorway from Munich to Salzburg. Continue onto the A10 Tauern Motorway. Use the Radstadt motorway exit, exit 63. Follow the B99 Katschberg Federal Road from Radstadt to Obertauern.
From the south: take the Villach - A10 Tauern Motorway. Exit at the St. Michael toll station, exit 104. Then proceed through Mauterndorf to reach Obertauern.
From the east: travel from Vienna to A2 and then to S6. Continue from Semmering to A9 Phyrn Motorway. From Liezen, take B320 to Radstadt, or travel from Judenburg via Murtal Federal Road to Murau. Proceed to Tamsweg, then to Mauterndorf, and finally to Obertauern.

However, once you arrive in Obertauern, you won't need your car, as the village is small and easily walkable.
