Blue pistes

Obertauern offers approximately 61 kilometers of blue runs, perfect for beginners and those seeking leisurely skiing. These slopes are wide and gently sloping, providing an ideal environment to build confidence.


The "Zentralbahn" area features several easy pistes that are well-groomed and offer scenic views of the surrounding mountains. Additionally, the "Sonnenlift" area provides gentle slopes that are perfect for practicing basic techniques.


These areas are easily accessible and are serviced by modern lifts, ensuring a comfortable experience for novice skiers.

Red pistes

Intermediate skiers can enjoy around 35 kilometers of red runs that offer a mix of challenges and exhilarating descents.


The "Zehnerkarabfahrt" is the resort's longest run, stretching approximately 5 kilometers with an elevation difference of 522 meters. This slope provides a thrilling ride with varied terrain, making it a favorite among seasoned skiers. Another notable run is the "Seekareck" slope, which offers a mix of open stretches and forested areas, providing both scenic beauty and a moderate challenge.


These pistes are well-maintained and provide excellent opportunities for skiers to refine their skills.


Black pistes

For advanced skiers seeking a challenge, Obertauern offers 4 kilometers of black runs.


The most renowned is the "Gamsleiten 2" slope, one of the steepest in Europe, measuring 1.3 kilometers in length with an elevation difference of 362 meters. This run is famous for its moguls and steep gradient, providing an adrenaline-pumping experience for expert skiers. Another challenging piste is the "Plattenkar" slope, which offers a steep descent and requires precise technique and control.
