Rajska plaža

RAJSKA PLAŽA – PARADISE BEACH

Location: Lopar, next to the San Marino Sunny Resort

You can’t leave the island of Rab without visiting Paradise Beach (Rajska Plaža), the most famous sandy beach in Croatia. This 1500 m long beach is located next to the San Marino Sunny Resort in Lopar. Children love it because of its clean and shallow sea and the characteristic brown sand suitable for playing and making sand towers. The beach abounds in facilities ranging from water sports to a water slide, aquapark and various restaurants, bars and shops. It is also a renowned beach volleyball centre, due to its eight courts hosting numerous tournaments. Come, see and enjoy!

CAROLINA BEACH

Location: Suha Punta peninsula (5 km from Rab), next to the Valamar Carolina Hotel & Villas

If you prefer a relaxing, romantic atmosphere, visit Carolina Beach near the Valamar Carolina Hotel & Villas. The beach stretches along the wooded peninsula of Suha Punta and combines pebble and rocky areas. It features showers and changing cabins, and you can rent a sun lounger and umbrella and enjoy the whole day.

Banova Vila

BANOVA VILA MUNICIPAL BEACH

Location: coast of the old town of Rab, 500 m from the Imperial Valamar Collection Hotel

Refresh yourself in the crystal-clear sea at Banova Vila Beach at the foot of the charming old town of Rab. Rent a sun lounger and umbrella and relax completely. You can watch a water polo match or venture out on a kayaking adventure along the coast. If you get the chance, visit the legendary beach bar in the evening and enjoy great live music.

Kandarola

KANDAROLA BEACH

Location: Frkanj peninsula, 5 km northwest of the town of Rab

Kandarola Beach is one of the oldest designated naturist beaches in the world. It is known locally as the ‘English Beach’ because it was visited by King Edward VIII and his companion Wallis Simpson in 1936. The beach consists of several smaller pebble and rocky sections and coves, some of which are for non-naturists and those a little further and more sheltered for naturists. Clear sea, hot sun, the peaceful atmosphere and dense shade of impressive pine trees are the main reasons to visit this beach. It can be reached by a taxi boat from Rab or Palit or along a gravel path through the dense forest that stretches all the way to the sea.

Pudarica

PUDARICA BEACH

Location: Barbat, 4 km south of the old town of Rab

This beautiful sandy beach located in Barbat on the south side of the island can be reached by car or boat. Whether you come with children or alone, you’ll be delighted by the fine sand and clear emerald sea. There is plenty of space for children to play, but also for those who prefer solitude. The beach features a bar, a bistro and a famous night club. It is worth waiting for the sunset because the view from this beach is one of the most beautiful on the island.

Livačina

LIVAČINA BEACH

Location: Lopar, close to the San Marino Sunny Resort

Sandy Livačina Beach is situated near the more famous Rajska Beach. Its clear emerald seawater, soft brown sand and abundant shade will immediately soothe stress and encourage you to relax. If the sun is too strong, you can find shade in the forest. Ideal for children and water sports enthusiasts, this beach also features good restaurants.

Ribon

RIBON BEACH

Location: Barbat

Sandy Ribon Beach is not so easy to reach because it is 200 m from the parking area, but the effort is definitely worth it. It is located in Barbat on the southern side of the island, not far from Pudarica Beach. You can also reach it by boat. Ribon Beach is especially idyllic in the early and late season when the atmosphere is completely peaceful, and the sea is immaculately clear and calm. The beach is wild and there are no facilities on it, which gives it a particular untouched atmosphere.

Mel Kampor

MEL KAMPOR BEACH

Location: Kampor, in the northwestern part of the island

Mel Kampor Beach resembles the more famous Rajska Beach, although it is smaller, quieter and offers fewer entertainment options. It is located in Kampor, close to marked bicycle paths and a free parking area. The sea is clean and shallow, but before too long you can plunge into deeper water. The beach features bars, sun lounger and umbrella rental, and entertainment options ranging from trampolines, pedal boat and kayak rental to beach volleyball.

Tara

TARA BEACH

Location: Frkanj peninsula, near Kandarola beach

This beautiful sandy beach is located in a quiet secluded cove on the Frkanj peninsula not far from the famous Kandarola Beach. Easily accessible by car, this sandy beach with crystal-clear sea surrounded by rocks and dense forest is popular with both children and adults. There is a bar next to it, and also plenty of shade.

Jelenovica

JELENOVICA BEACH

Location: Suha Punta, about 20 minutes on foot from Valamar Carolina Hotels & Villas and the parking area

This beach, located in an idyllic pebble bay on the wooded Suha Punta peninsula, is characterised by its perfectly clear sea, rounded pebbles, sandy seabed, and abundant natural shade. If you like unspoilt beaches that offer a relaxing atmosphere away from noise and bustle, this is the place for you. Next to the beach there’s a bar where you can have a coffee or refreshing drink.
